Hey there! My name is Valeria Rivera and I am a third-year journalism and public relations major at Boston University. 

I'm originally from Costa Rica and my family is from Honduras, but I've been fortunate to grow up all over the world in places like the Philippines, Hong Kong, and now Boston. I love traveling and visiting new places and I find that my experiences abroad have really influenced and inspired my writing, both personally and in my journalistic pursuits.

Here at BU, I form part of the Daily Free Press, our student-run newspaper and I'm an editor and contributing writer at Her Campus Media's BU chapter as well. I'm also involved with BU's International Affairs Association as one of the marketing board members! 

For as long as I can remember I've had a passion for writing and creating content, and my experience growing up abroad has only grown my desire to be an outlet to amplify all the stories that are out there.
